ORIGAMI YODA
THE SCHOOL AWAKENS
A Film By
Jawa, SuperDoodler CJ, and SuperFolder JC

SCENE 1

TITLE
Not so long ago in a middle school not so far, far, away….

[MARKUS is walking through a wooded area.]

[The camera scans the area. Shot of a letter. MARKUS rushes over to the envelope. He brushes some dirt off of the envelope, so he can clearly see the words “Captain Micah.”]

MARKUS
(chuckles slightly)
At last, after all these years… I’ve found him. Origami Yoda.

[MARKUS then quickly examines it and opens the envelope.]

MARKUS
(angered)
What? No, this cannot be!

[The envelope is revealed to be empty, and MARKUS yells, and crushes the letter.]

MAIN TITLE APPEARS

SCENE 2

[Establishing shot of McQuarrie.]

RABBSKI
(sighs)
What are we in here for today? Forgery of hall passes, bullying, or-

HOWELL
(interrupting)
She was carrying this:

[HOWELL hands RABBSKI a 5-fold Yoda]

RABBSKI
I see. You know that origami is strictly prohibited at this school, don’t you…Reina?

REINA
Yes, ma’am.

RABBSKI
You’ve been to my office one to many times. I’m afraid I’m going to have to give you detention.

REINA
But-

HOWELL
Don’t worry, Ms. Rabbski. I’ve already given her detention for today.

REINA
(under breath)
Jerk.

HOWELL
Make that the rest of the week.

REINA
What?!?

HOWELL
I’m sorry, Reina, your behavior in this school has been unacceptable.

RABBSKI
I have to agree with you, Mr.Howell. Until you can clean up your act and start acting like a respectful student, detention it is.

REINA
But-

[Bell rings.]

RABBSKI
Looks like detention is calling. Go along now.

REINA
(reluctantly)
Yes, ma’am.

SCENE 3

[REINA is in detention, JOE is sitting close by.]

JOE
[Quietly and then slightly louder to REINA]
Psst. Psst. PSST!

REINA
[Glares at JOE]
Can I help you?

JOE
[whispering]
Maybe…I don’t know yet.

REINA
[Confused and annoyed, but still whispering]
What’s that supposed to mean?

JOE
Depends on what you’re in for.
[pause]
Which is…?

REINA
I folded-

HOWELL
Shh!

JOE
Folded what?

HOWELL
[louder]
Shh!

[REINA begins to fold another 5-fold Yoda and hands it to JOE]

[What follows is all written on the back of the Yoda.]

JOE
What is it?

REINA
It’s Yoda. From Star Wars.

JOE
You like Star Wars?

REINA
Pretty much my life.

JOE
In that case, you can help.

REINA
How so?

JOE
People are starting a rebellion. We’re gonna try to get origami unbanned from the school.

REINA
Where do I come in?

JOE
I’ll tell you more about it after we get out of here.

[REINA begins to write another message but GCF walks in.]

GCF
[To HOWELL]
Hey, uh, I’m preparing for an assembly tomorrow, and I need to borrow a couple people to help me unload my equipment from my truck.

HOWELL
Whatever, monkey man. Grab some of the worms and get lost… but bring em’ back or else I’ll make sure your salary hits rock bottom.

GCF
[Pulls nervously at collar]
You got it, boss. Uh, let’s see, I’ll take that guy there….

[JOE motions towards REINA]

GCF
(acknowledging said motion)
…and that girl. You.

[JOE and REINA get up and head out of the classroom. GCF closes the door behind them firmly, then motions to where to go and motions for them to hurry.]

SCENE 4

GCF
[Checking and looking around]
Alright, we’re in the clear. Come on, help with these boxes and I’ll explain the situation to you.

[Reina and Joe start picking up and moving boxes.]

JOE
So what’s the scoop, GCF?

GCF
The Resistance has received information about…the Mail-lennium Falcon.

JOE
[accidentally drops box]
WHAT?!

GCF
SHHH!!! You want the whole school to hear you?
[Moves closer to JOE]
It was last seen 4.5 years ago. However, spies report that the Fold Order discovered the crash location, and sent an agent to check it out. Our spies said the agent didn’t discover anything in the letter. But it was definitely the Falcon.

JOE
How can you be sure?

GCF
Because we have it in our possession. Lunchman Jeff, if you will.

LUNCHMAN JEFF
[Shows the crumpled paper]
I find the weirdest things in the trash, man.

JOE
[Takes the crushed envelope and examines it]
Incredible…

GCF
Apparently, the First Order tried to discard it, but Lunchman Jeff found it here in the school cafeteria, which means we definitely have one or more Fold Order members hiding in McQuarrie’s halls.

REINA
[Places box down]
Okay, okay, quick question: What the heck does any of this mean?!

JOE
Sorry, I just got overwhelmed by this new info. So, as I’ve seen from your folding skills, you obviously have heard of…Origami Yoda.

REINA
Yeah, I mean who hasn’t, at this school, at least? That kid Dwight folded him.

JOE
Shh! Don’t use that name…no telling who’s listening.
[JOE looks around]
The point is the last record of…him…was in a chapter of a case file written by Tommy Lomax…heard of him?

REINA
Sure, that kid who won all those writing awards, right?

JOE
Exactly. Well, he and Dwight were friends, and at one point Dwight told him how the paper Jedi Master left, and it was in an envelope called the Mail-lennium Falcon.

REINA
Dwight mailed him?

JOE
Don’t be ridiculous. The Falcon flew out Dwight’s window to find Captain Micah, a friend of Dwight’s who needed help.

REINA
[Sarcastically]
Ah. Obviously.
[Looking at GCF]
You believe in this garbage, too?

GCF
I saw Dwight and Yoda myself. I knew them. In fact, Dwight was the one who got me my job back.

JOE
And he helped me become a better skater. A few years back I used to hang and the skate park and bully all the other skateboarders, just because I didn’t know how to skate myself. But then this kid, Kellen, started being nice to me and taught me how to skate. He told me Dwight and Origami Yoda pushed him to do it. Yoda’s wisdom changed my life for the better… I’ll never forget that.

REINA
Uh huh… A talking puppet made you a better person?

JOE
And a better skateboarder.

GCF
Well, that’s all the boxes. Hey…
[Looks inside one box]
[gasps]
It’s you!

REINA
Who? Who is it?

GCF
After all these years! I never knew what happened to you! Soapy!

SOAPY
I can’t believe you forgot about me. You still owe me a bag of Cheetos.

GCF
Thanks for the help guys.

JOE
(handing GCF the Mail-lennium Falcon)
Put this somewhere safe. We might need it.

GCF
Oh! I’ve also been ordered to give you a mission to find Tommy Lomax. If anyone would know where Origami Yoda may have went, it’s him. We have to make sure McQuarrie Middle School becomes free to fold again. Without the SuperFolders, there can be no balance in the Force. Now go, you must go!

JOE
Come on Reina. Thanks again, GCF.

REINA
Wow, this day keeps on getting weirder by the minute.

[The two run off together in a wide shot. The camera pans upward to the sky, which changes from blue to black, and then the camera pans down. MARKUS entering Wendy’s. He opens the door, and walks in.SNOKE is sitting at a nearby table, hood drawn.]

SCENE 5

SNOKE
Welcome, apprentice.

MARKUS
Supreme Leader.

[the hands of SNOKE holding a Coca-Cola can]
I understand you located the Mail-lennium Falcon, and found no trace of Origami Yoda. Have you disposed of the envelope?

MARKUS
That is correct, my master.

SNOKE
[sipping Coke]
Very good…although this brings about many questions.

MARKUS
My lord, the whereabouts of Origami Yoda are unknown, but I have suspicions as to where he is…I KNOW that I can take care of this situation. I will complete the task that had been started years ago…I will destroy Origami Yoda and the Rebellion.

SNOKE
For the Order’s sake, I hope you do. McQuarrie Middle School must be maintained as a no-origami zone…there can be no hope. Nothing will stand in our way. We must have no opposition.

MARKUS
Yes, my lord.

SNOKE
Send a squadron of troopers to THIS address
[passes piece of paper to Markus]
And be quick about it, before the Resistance reaches him first.

[MARKUS examines the paper]
MARKUS
I will not fail you, my master.

SCENE 6

[JOE and REINA walking to TOMMY’S house. JOE knocks on the door. Footsteps are heard. The music builds up as the door is opened, and Tommy Lomax stands in the entrance.]

TOMMY
Uh…Can I help you?

JOE
Are you Thomas J. Lomax?

TOMMY
Yeah…?

JOE
I’ve been sent from the Superfolder Resistance to ask you some questions. My name is Joe, and this is Reina.

TOMMY
SuperFolders… now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. A long, long time…you had better come in.

[JOE and REINA walk inside. TOMMY closes the door behind them.]

TOMMY
So what’s this all about?

JOE
A few days ago, a Resistance member received word of an envelope bearing resemblance to the Mail-lennium Falcon. However, a group called the Fold Order got to the letter before we did. They have since discarded the envelope, but our spies have confirmed that the envelope was definitely the Falcon.

TOMMY
[Intrigued]
Hmm…follow me.

[TOMMY walks through a hallway to a door. It leads to the basement. JOE, REINA, and TOMMY head down the stairs. A light is turned on, and the walls are covered with papers, news articles, yarn, tacks, and stuff that looks as if it was from a crime movie. There is a desk with tons of papers scattered across it, and an old picture of Tommy and Sarah on the desk.]
[REINA and JOE examine the room]

REINA
Whoa.

TOMMY
Sorry for the mess, but I tend to be a bit of slob when I work.

JOE
I see you’re interested in finding Origami Yoda as well.

TOMMY
[sighs]
For years, I’ve been trying to find any lead to where the Falcon might’ve gone. I thought it might contain the answer Dwight wouldn’t tell me. Even after the FunTime incident, the school board meetings, all of it… I’m still not sure if Origami Yoda is real or not…

[REINA makes a “cuckoo” sign to JOE as TOMMY monologues]

TOMMY
[cont’d]
I tried asking Dwight many times about it. He never gave me a straight answer. He just said “yardstick.” Every. Single. Time.
Dwight always was an oddball. But he was still a good friend.
[Sighs]
I wish it could have stayed that way.

JOE
Wait. Are you saying you guys aren’t friends anymore?

TOMMY
I’m afraid not. Dwight and I, we literally haven’t seen each other in years.

REINA
What happened between you guys?

TOMMY
We left to different high schools…I guess we just got, you know, busy.

JOE
Do you know where Dwight might be? When’s the last time you talked to him?

TOMMY
The last time I spoke to Dwight was at the fun night after our D.C. field trip, almost 4 years ago. I would check the local Wendy’s or his house, if he still lives there.

JOE
Do you know the address?

TOMMY
Sure. It’s, uh, 1971 Roddenberry Drive.

JOE
Thanks, Tommy, you’ve been a great help to the Resistance.

TOMMY
Be very careful, and don’t trust anybody.

[JOE and REINA begin heading up the stairs]

JOE
I’ll keep that in mind.

[JOE and REINA exit the house.]

SCENE 7
[MARKUS, TROOPER1, TROOPER2, and BEN prepare an ambush]

MARKUS
(to Ben)
Check all the exits and make sure there’s no way of escaping.

[BEN exits.]

MARKUS
(to other Troopers)
You two, come with me.

[BEN secretly unlocks the back door, and JOE and REINA walk up to the front door. There’s a “For Sale” sign in the yard.]

REINA
Are you sure this is the right place?

JOE
That’s what Lomax said…

REINA
I have a bad feeling about this…

[JOE knocks on the door]

MARKUS
(disguised voice)
Come in!

[JOE and REINA enter and TROOPER1 and 2 grab them]

REINA
Hey!

JOE
What’s all this?!?

[MARKUS comes out of the shadows]

REINA
Lomax! That traitor!

MARKUS
I believe you two have some information regarding Dwight Tharp.

JOE
You’ve got to be joking.

MARKUS
Tie him over there, and take her away.

TROOPER1
Right away, sir.

[TROOPER1 takes REINA away and TROOPER2 takes JOE away]
[BEN knocks TROOPER1 out]

BEN
Come with me if you want to live.

REINA
Who the heck are you?

BEN
Just a guy who wants to get away from the Order. Come on!

TROOPER2
Hey! You! Stop right there!

[BEN and REINA escape]

TROOPER2
(to Markus)
Sir…

MARKUS
What?

TROOPER2
Uh, she escaped. Along with-

MARKUS
(furious)
What?!?

TROOPER2
Sir, I tried to-

MARKUS
Leave. Now.

TROOPER2
Yes, sir.

SCENE 8

[REINA and BEN are walking down the road]

REINA
So, who are you? Are you part of the Resistance? Where’s Joe?

BEN
Let’s see. Ben Mantrue, not exactly, and we’ll get him later.

REINA
We need to go back for him!

BEN
He can handle himself for the time being, we should be back with reinforcements.

REINA
None of this is making any sense! Why did you help me? You’re one of the Order!

BEN
To be honest, I hated those guys. They were just about as annoying as anyone could get.

REINA
That, bad huh?

BEN
Yeah, it sucked. Anyways, what’s your name?

REINA
Reina.

BEN
Ever heard of a guy named Murky?

REINA
Not that I know of.

BEN
He used to be my friend- He still is my friend, but we just don’t talk as much.

REINA
I see.

BEN
Anyways, I think he might have some information on Yoda and Dwight.

REINA
How do you know about Yoda and Dwight?

BEN
Used to be friends with him. Haven’t seen him in a couple years though.

REINA
How much farther to-

[BEN stops]

BEN
We’re here.

[BEN and REINA knock on the door]

MURKY
Who is it?

BEN
Hey, Murky? It’s me, Ben!

[MURKY opens the door]

MURKY
Plastic dinosaurs, it is you!! Come on in, dude!

[JOE and REINA enter]

MURKY
(sees Reina)
Names, Murky.

REINA
Reina.

MURKY
Stooky.

REINA
Stooky?

MURKY
Oh, that’s just a word I made up. It means awesome.

REINA
So why not just say “awesome”?

[MURKY has a blank stare for a few seconds]

MURKY
You know, I’m not really sure.

[MURKY sits down]

MURKY
So, what brings you guys here?

BEN
We’re trying to locate Dwight Tharp.

MURKY
Dwight? Why are you looking for him?

REINA
The SuperFolder Resistance received word that the Fold Order is trying to outlaw origami at McQuarrie, permanently.

MURKY
You mean you guys are still a part of that whole Origami Yoda thing? I thought that was over years ago.

BEN
I did, too. Unfortunately, we were wrong.

MURKY
Huh. And you think Dwight can help you…why?

REINA
We think he still has Origami Yoda, and he could help us defeat the Order.

MURKY
I see. Well, I don’t know where Dwight is, but I know where his girlfriend, Caroline, is.

BEN
Caroline Broome?

MURKY
That’s the one. I was visiting Hairsprinkle the other day and stopped Glen’s Fair Price Store. Turns out she’s working there now.

REINA
Glen’s? You mean that place that was all over the news during the election a few years ago?

MURKY
Yep. Said she moved to Hairsprinkle last year. I bet she’d know where Dwight is.

BEN
Thanks, Murky. We’re off. Got a back door we could use? We’re kind of on the run from some of the Fold Order, but-

[knock at the door]

TROOPER2
Hello?

MURKY
Who is it?

TROOPER2
Uh, room service?

MURKY
(to Ben and Reina)
Follow me.

MURKY
Good luck on your fizzpop quest, dude and dudette!

BEN
Alright then. See ya around, Murky.

[BEN and REINA leave]

SCENE 9

[JOE is tied to a chair as MARKUS interrogates him]

MARKUS
I will say once more, where is Origami Yoda?

JOE
Like I would tell you.

[MARKUS punches JOE]

JOE
The Resistance…will not be intimidated…

MARKUS
Are you so sure?

[MARKUS punches JOE again]

JOE
You think beating me up will get you answers?

MARKUS
Maybe not, but this will…

[MARKUS reaches for a TV remote]

JOE
A remote? Really?

[MARKUS laughs and turns on the Star Wars Holiday Special]

HAN SOLO
(on television)
C’mon, Chewie! Let’s get you home for Life Day!

JOE
(clearly in pain)
No…No! Blu-Ray Noooooo!!!!!

[MARKUS exits the room]

MARKUS
It’s at McQuarrie.

SCENE 10

[BEN and REINA arrive at Glen’s Fair Price Store to meet CAROLINE]

BEN
Here we are, Glen’s Fair Price Store.

[BEN and REINA enter Glen’s]

GLEN
(unenthusiastically)
Welcome to Glen’s Fair Price Store, Hairsprinkle’s most unusual store, and home of the Heidelberg Handlebar.

BEN
Thanks. Does a Caroline Broome work here by any chance?

GLEN
Yeah, she’s in the back.

BEN
Thanks.

[BEN and REINA walk up to CAROLINE]

BEN
Caroline?

[CAROLINE looks up]

CAROLINE
Yes, how may I help you?

BEN
It’s me, Ben. Ben Mantrue?

CAROLINE
Oh yeah…hey! How have you been?

BEN
Well, as of late not so good. We’re looking for Dwight. We thought you might know where he is.

CAROLINE
(slightly tearing up)
Dwight and I, we had to split up a couple months ago when he moved.

BEN
Aw, man. Sorry to hear that. Where’d he move to? If, you don’t mind me asking.

CAROLINE
I’d rather not talk about it…

BEN
I know, but-

REINA
(interrupting)
If you have any information, the Resistance needs it. Please. You’re our only hope.

CAROLINE
Well, I don’t know. See his mom got a travelling job and they have to move around a lot. I know where Harvey is, though. He moved to Crickenburg last summer.

REINA
You mean the guy that was a jerk?

CAROLINE
He wasn’t really a jerk, he just wasn’t always the nicest person. He’s changed since then.
[slight smile]

JOE
Where is he in Crickenburg?

CAROLINE
He usually hangs around the library a lot. He likes to read up on monologues for some reason. Lot of Shakespeare too.

JOE
Hm. Well, thanks Caroline. You’ve been a great help.

CAROLINE
My pleasure. And if you see Harvey, tell him I said hi.

JOE
Will do.

REINA
Thanks again!

[CAROLINE nods. JOE and REINA begin to exit. The bell rings as the door opens. MARKUS enters. He does not see BEN or REINA.]

BEN
I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

GLEN
May I help you?

MARKUS
I’m looking for a Caroline Broome.

GLEN
Jeez, everyone’s looking for Caroline today.

MARKUS
[intrigued]
You don’t say?

GLEN
You gonna buy something, kid?

[MARKUS stares at a fake mustache.]

MARKUS
Maybe later.

[Cut back to BEN, REINA, and CAROLINE]

REINA
We gotta get out of here!

BEN
Is there a back entrance?

CAROLINE
No, but you can hide in the basement.

REINA
Is that really the only option?

[MARKUS is getting closer.]

CAROLINE
It is right now. Go! I’ll hold him off.

[MARKUS approaches CAROLINE.]

MARKUS
Are you Caroline Broome?

CAROLINE
Yes, how can I help you?

MARKUS
Well, I was hoping you could tell me how to find something.

CAROLINE
Well, there’s wigs over there, face paint to the right, and-

MARKUS
I’m looking for something more…unique.

[Cut to REINA and BEN in the basement.]

BEN
[quietly]
What do you think is going on up there?

REINA
I don’t know, but I hope it’s going okay.

BEN
Yeah, but what if-Achoo!

[BEN sneezes and knocks over stuff. Cut back to MARKUS.]

MARKUS
What was that?

CAROLINE
I’m sure it’s just the wind.

MARKUS
In the basement?

CAROLINE
I mean-

MARKUS
Excuse me, please.

[MARKUS pushes CAROLINE out of the way.]

CAROLINE
Hey, you can’t go down there!

[MARKUS enters the basement and REINA and BEN hide.]

CAROLINE
Sir, you can’t be down here!

MARKUS
Can it!

CAROLINE
Hey, watch it!

[BEN and REINA come out of hiding.]

BEN
Leave her out of this!

MARKUS
[shocked]
What are you doing here?!

BEN
Looking for the same thing you are.

MARKUS
You let her escape…

BEN
Duh. Your friends are pretty dumb.

MARKUS
You’re not wrong.
[pause]
Where is it then? Did she tell you? Is it down here?

BEN
I don’t know where it is. She wouldn’t tell me anything.

MARKUS
Sure about that?

BEN
Look, I came down here to look for it, same as you, Jacob.

MARKUS
I told you, my name is Markus.

BEN
I don’t think so…

REINA
If his name isn’t Markus, who is he?

BEN
He name is…Jacob Minch. My brother.

CAROLINE
What?!?

BEN
He’s my step-brother.

JACOB
I’m afraid it’s true. But you blown my cover, and now you must die…

REINA
Woah, that’s a little extreme, don’t ya think?

JACOB
No, I don’t.

[JACOB tackles BEN]

BEN
[to Reina]
Go! Hurry!

MARKUS
What?!

[REINA and CAROLINE escape.]

GLEN
What in Heidelberg’s name is going on?!?

CAROLINE
Nothing, sir. Few things just fell over.

[Crash is heard.]

GLEN
Whatever it is, you better clean it up.

CAROLINE
Right away, sir.

[CAROLINE grabs REINA]

CAROLINE
Run. Go. I can handle this. Find Harvey. And stay away from Minch at all costs. Go!

[REINA leaves. Shot lingers on a fake mustache as the door closes.]

SCENE 11

[REINA arrives at the library. A man with a hoodie on is sitting at a table. REINA approaches.]

REINA
Excuse me?

MAN
Who are you? What do you want?

REINA
I’m looking for a Harvey Cunningham. I heard he stays here a lot.

MAN
Yeah, I know him.

REINA
Where is he?

MAN
Right here.

[MAN turns around revealing it’s HARVEY.]

REINA
You’re Harvey?

HARVEY
At your service. For the right price.

REINA
Man, you really are a jerk.

HARVEY
Woah, chill. Just a joke. Is that what they still say about me though?

REINA
Yeah, pretty much.

HARVEY
Jeez. But you still didn’t answer my questions. Who are you, and what do you want?

REINA
My name is Reina, and I’m part of the Crease of Resistance.

HARVEY
Not this crap again. Are you after the paperwad?

REINA
Paperwad?

HARVEY
[sighs]
The Yoda?

REINA
You mean you have Origami Yoda?

HARVEY
What? No, of course not. Why would I?

REINA
I don’t know…why would you?

[REINA holds up the original, baked beans, Yoda, encased in a picture frame.]

HARVEY
[sighs]
Nice lift.

REINA
Thanks. So where did you get it?

HARVEY
I knew studying monologues would come in handy someday.
[clears throat]
It was right after our DC field trip. I was talking to Tommy and Kellen.

REINA
[interrupting]
Kellen Campbell?

HARVEY
Don’t interrupt, please. But yes. Campbell. During our discourse, we were contemplating the changes that each of had experienced over the course of our time together in middle school. Each of us had grown. I had learned what true friendship is… [He picks up photograph of Harvey, Tommy, Sara, Dwight, and Kellen. He touches the picture of Sara affectionately.] And that you don’t always get what you want. Tommy learned not to judge a book by its cover, but to read the book thoroughly, even to read between the lines… by book I mean a person of course. He also gained true leadership skills. As for Kellen… never changed. [Makes Harvey snort.] I’m sorry, old habits… Kellen learned that the best path isn’t always the most obvious one, whether it comes to pee stains, skate brats, or dating… and that for every cloud, there is always a silver lining.

REINA
Whoa… that’s deep.

HARVEY
Up-bup-bup! Not finished. But thank you. [Takes deep breath and continues.] Everyone had changed. Mike could control his emotions. Quavondo was more selfless. Lance and Amy found true love, etc., etc., the same old cliche morals. But there was one of us who had changed… for the worse. That person was a close friend of mine. But all the misadventures our group had experienced with Origami Yoda… he was the one who didn’t get a happy ending. At least not the fullness of that happy ending. When Origami Yoda left… he broke. He was never the same again. It was partially my fault… oh, who am I kidding? It was all my fault. If it wasn’t for me, none of the bad things at McQuarrie would have ever happened. With Darth Paper and Emperor Pickletine, I caused so much damage, and Origami Yoda had to fix them all. But some damage just can’t be repaired. Some damage leaves permanent scars.

REINA
Who was this person?

HARVEY
The broken one? That’s Supreme Liter Coke. He was my friend.

[Dramatic pause. Awkward silence.]

HARVEY
[takes bow]
You may applaud when ready.

REINA
[Slow clap]
Wow… great stuff there, pal.

HARVEY
Thank you. I think I might pursue a career in theater. You know, I was quite excellent in the musical Olivia Twist… oh, but that’s a story for another time. Now, can I please have… hey!

[Reina is taking Origami Yoda out of the picture frame.]

Leave the paperwad – I mean puppet – alone! I had to put him back together myself and keep him preserved for years!

REINA
[snickers]
Oh, come on! It’s just a stupid little-

[Reina touches Origami Yoda. Suddenly, everything flickers and there is a screeching sound. This is a dream phase, like when Rey touches Luke’s lightsaber.]

VERSION 2
Opening Crawl

Pan down on McQuarrie Middle School on Orientation Day for a new group of students.

Reina gets detention on her first day.

Reina meets Ben
in detention.

Reina and Ben meet Principal Rabbski, and are introduced to FunTime. Rabbski’s nephew, Jacob, says he loves the new program.

Reina and Ben HATE FunTime. Duh.

Tommy, now high school-aged, politely takes the two students out of Rabbski’s office.

After Reina and Ben complain about FunTime, a worn-down and understanding Tommy informs them about Dwight and Origami Yoda’s legacy.

Jacob prepares an ambush of students to rat Tommy out to Rabbski, proclaiming that this was Tommy’s last chance to stop talking about Origami Star Wars puppets at the school, and that his aunt would kick him out, this time…

Tommy is taken away, but not before telling Reina and Ben to find Origami Yoda, to “save origami! Save the dream!”

Ben and Reina run away, bumping into Lunchman Jeff. The kind man hears Tommy’s cries and shakes his head, sadly. He tells Ben and Reina that without Origami Yoda, there can be no balance in the school. He hands them a weathered, cryptic map that Dwight gave him years ago, and tells them to follow it if they want their experience at McQuarrie to be Stooky, not Wug.

Reina and Ben go to Murky’s house, the first stop on the map.

Murky tells them to go to Glen’s Fair Price Store in Hairsprinkle to meet Caroline, who “always hangs out there, nowadays.”

Lunchman Jeff is found by Jacob, and forced to watch the Holiday Special until he gives Jacob a copy of the map so that Jacob may “end this, once and for all.”

Caroline tells Ben and Reina about her history with Dwight, and that Dwight/Yoda were secretly transferred to Tippett Academy, without Tommy and the gang ever knowing exactly what happened to their friend.

Jacob knocks on the door of Glen’s, and Reina and Ben go into the basement.

Jacob heads into the basement, grabbing a plastic lightsaber from one of the racks on the wall. A fight ensues!!

  4. Awesome script. Stooky. I need to learn from this as well CD

  5. Jawa…

  6. Sara is nowhere to be seen…why isn’t she with Tommy?

  7. Sara is nowhere to be seen…why isn’t she with Tommy?

Very much like. So this was never supposed to be a story, but an OYTS Finale?

  8. Tommy sounds like he became very absorbed in work, maybe too absorbed to give Sara the time and love that she needed

  9. C’mon finish the script

Not the outline but the actual script

    Also Please actually film it.

Hey guys when another generation of SFs come, do you think we’ll all be MODs by then?

Also, I’m sure SLS asked this but how do you become a MOD?

  10. Wow. Very different from how I imagined the School Awakens would be.

  11. I am good at making films, if you give me the permission to film it, I will film it and it will look very good 🙂
